BELLEVILLE, Ill. – It’s the kind of weekend small towns dream about: Warm weather, packed sidewalks, and the sound of live music in the air.

In Belleville, a local tradition is getting bigger each year, drawing crowds and creating unforgettable moments just in time for Mother’s Day.

Restaurants and bars along Belleville’s Main Street have turned on stretch of road into a celebration zone with live performances lighting up the street. From Copper Fire to Bennie’s and Beyond, the energy is high. And the love for moms is even higher.

“Oh man, up and down main here and around, probably at least 500 to 600 people,” said Aaron Kane a server with Copper Fire.

Hundreds came out to enjoy a live music row, as restaurants and bars like Copper Fire, Bennie’s, and nine others hosted live performances, including one by 11-year-old Kelvin Burg.

“I’ve been playing guitar for four years and a lot of us know some Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers and other country music,” said Burg. “It felt good to play all that.”

One grandmother came out to support her granddaughter’s pageant fundraiser, but found herself captivated by Kelvin’s set.

“That little boy that played that was the best performance I’ve seen all day long, and we’ve been out here since two,” said attendee Cynthia Lilly.

Main Street was packed with people enjoying the sun, food, drinks, and their mothers. Copper Fire is already sold out for Sunday—expecting 400 guests—but they’re still accepting walk-ins on the patio and bar.

“I do believe they’re offering a little a something for the moms at the brunch. I think we’re trying to keep that more of a surprise,” said Alixx Pineiro, a server with Copper Fire.

The day started with a Bloody Mary walk, then came the rainbow pub crawl, and the night will cap off with a drag show. At least 19 performances are taking place across Main Street.

“Yeah this is great! Yes it’s nice. Perfect day. Beautiful weather,” said attendee Richard Nester.

“This is beautiful day. Every time we come over during summer time you know. It’s a beautiful day and having fun, listen to music,” said Mel Kurdz.

Businesses say the crowds are only growing, and Sunday is expected to be even bigger. So whether you’ve made a reservation or plan to walk in, there’s still time to treat mom to sunshine, music, and memories.
