ST. LOUIS — Jake Neighbours, a left winger for the St. Louis Blues, launched a new hat line on Thursday that features American Sign Language in two of the designs.

According to the St. Louis Blues website, the hats are sold exclusively at STL Authentics beginning Thursday. Neighbors released five designs in various colors that feature team logos and two designs that include sign language.

One hat spells out the word “Blues” in ASL, and another features Neighbours’ number 63 in sign language.

The St. Louis Blues website said Neighbours learned sign language as a kid as a friend of his from childhood had a mother who was deaf.

A portion of the proceeds from the two hats will go toward DEAF, Inc., a non-profit in St. Louis that serves those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
