HILLSBORO, Mo. – Christopher Moriarty, a 44-year-old man from Imperial, is set to appear in court Wednesday morning in Jefferson County as he is facing multiple sex crime charges involving children.

Moriarty is due for a bond review hearing at 10 a.m. and is currently held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail, located across from the courthouse.

Moriarty faces 14 charges, including statutory rape or attempted statutory rape, statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 years old, and enticement or attempted enticement of a child.

Neighbors recorded cell phone video of a heavy police presence during Moriarty’s arrest at his Imperial home on Seckman Ridge Way last week. While at the home, investigators discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, sex toys, and an active camera pointed toward Moriarty’s bed at his home.

Court documents reveal five alleged victims, aged between 12 and 13, who provided graphic descriptions of the alleged sex acts involving Moriarty. These incidents reportedly occurred from June 1, 2024, to March 24, 2025.

Although the case is charged in Jefferson County, a St. Louis County task force led the investigation. Authorities believe Moriarty used social media to contact his victims and suspect there may be additional victims.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact St. Louis County Police as the investigation continues.
