ST. LOUIS – Clear skies and very cold this Wednesday morning. Single digits to low teens across the St. Louis region out the door. The winds are calm, so thankfully we aren’t adding to the bitter cold with a wind chill. Let’s watch for fog near the rivers and larger lakes.

It will be sunny and cold throughout Wednesday, with highs in the mid to upper 20s.
A warm front brings a change overnight. That front may bring some snow across central Illinois, staying north of the STL region.

After dropping briefly Wednesday evening, temperatures will start to warm overnight into Thursday as winds swing to the west. Mostly sunny and near 40 F Thursday for a high. Highs will push well into the 40s on Friday. With some melting, let’s watch for some fog around Friday morning.

Enjoy the warmup, because it doesn’t last long. Rain will move in late Friday into Friday night. That rain may end with some light snow early Saturday. Temperatures will hold steady in the low 30s or slowly drop throughout the day Saturday with gusty winds.

Highs Sunday will only be near 20 F. Dr. King Day Monday starts in the single digits, with highs only in the mid teens.
