ST. LOUIS – The CBC High School hockey team and the St. Louis Blues both held special tributes in memory of Colin Brown on Saturday evening.
Colin was shot on the evening of Nov. 23 on Interstate 55 near Loughborough Avenue as his family was driving home from his hockey game. He died last Wednesday from his injuries at the age of 16.
The CBC High School hockey team played its first game since the tragedy on Saturday. It was held at the Affton Hockey Rink, one week since Colin’s last hockey game at the same facility.
The CBC hockey team honored Colin with a group huddle and stick taps before the opening faceoff in Saturday’s game. Hockey fans paid respects with a round of applause, signs and T-shirts in Colin’s memory.
Around the same time, the St. Louis Blues made many efforts to honor Colin ahead of their home game with the Philadelphia Flyers. There was a moment of silence before the game, while fans also brought jerseys in support. A 50-50 raffle drive also raised proceeds on Saturday to support Colin’s family.
One week later, no arrests or charges have been made in connection with Colin’s death.
