ST. LOUIS – A Jennings, Missouri, man appeared in St. Louis Circuit Court on Thursday to face charges for a shooting earlier in the week.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 3200 block of Michigan Avenue, located in the Benton Park West neighborhood.

Police said Wendell C. Nolan, 43, and another man were arguing. At one point, Nolan went to his car and retrieved a gun from his car, walked back, and shot the other man.

The victim needed immediate surgery, police said.

Police said they have video of the shooting.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Nolan with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Nolan remains jailed without bond. His next court date was not listed in online records at the time of publication.
