ST. LOUIS – An abandoned home in a north St. Louis neighborhood has been moved to the emergency demolition list after it caught fire and collapsed Thursday morning.
According to the St. Louis Fire Department, the home, located in the 4400 block of Cottage Avenue in the Greater Ville neighborhood, caught fire around 8 a.m.
Two neighboring homes were damaged when the abandoned residence collapsed.
No injuries were reported.
The home is a property of the city’s Land Reutilization Authority, according to the Department of Public Safety. It’s been prioritized for demolition due to safety concerns.
