ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo.– Police are searching for the person who shot and killed two individuals in the Glasgow Village neighborhood in north St. Louis County Tuesday night, and the community is calling for an end to the violence.

A man and woman were found with several gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that was sitting outside of a residence in the 200 block of Roderick Dr. around 8 p.m.

Officers arrived to the area after receiving a ShotSpotter notification. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were believed to be in their 20s.

The murders have left police and officials with more questions than answers. The incident occurred in Missouri State Senator Angela Walton Mosely’s district.

“It’s a tragedy to hear that someone else has lost their life, and my heart goes out to the family, their friends, and loved ones,” she said. “Hopefully, we can find out who did this and somehow know to stop the violence. It’s not just in Missouri, but all of our country.”

Precious Jones lost her 20-year-old son to gun violence in 2022, and her nephew also fell victim a year later. Now, she is the founder of the non-profit Breaking Generational Poverty Foundation.

“It’s really heartbreaking that these tragedies keep happening, especially in our community, especially to our youth,” Jones said. “I do believe we need more resources in our communities. We are tired of burying our kids, and we’re tired of losing our loved ones. We just want a safe community.”
