FESTUS, Mo. – “It sounds petty, but when you buy a refrigerator, you expect it to work right,” Angela Neuendorf said.

Neuendorf says the refrigerator she and her husband bought in February 2024 at the Lowe’s store in Festus has been a problem since day one.

“Had it delivered the next day and hooked it up, and it hasn’t been right the entire time,” she said.

Neuendorf says the fridge and freezer function properly, but the control panel on the front of the appliance is broken.

“You can’t change anything. Nothing changes,” she said.

She says she the scoured the owner’s manual to try fixing the issue on their own before contacting Lowe’s and Frigidaire to schedule a repair.

“No one showed up all day, and then at the end of the day, we would find out that the company canceled and rescheduled our appointment without our knowledge,” she said. “At this point, we would just really like our money back. I don’t really want another Frigidaire appliance.”

That’s why Neuendorf reached out to Contact 2.

“I’ve gotten more of a response from you than I have calling Frigidaire for the last year,” Neuendorf said.

FOX 2 contacted Frigidaire’s parent company, Electrolux. A representative told us their customer service team would be calling Neuendorf to resolve the issue. FOX 2 also called Lowe’s. The company said it was reviewing her case. After some back and forth, Lowe’s followed up to say Neuendorf would receive a refund for her refrigerator. They even sent a crew to pick up the old fridge.

“It was just very frustrating,” she said.

With the money back in her pocket, Neuendorf went to a mom-and-pop appliance store for her new fridge.

“There was no action until I called you. Nothing happened until you got involved,” she said.
