JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – A dirt bike rider was killed in a Jefferson County crash Friday evening after he struck another vehicle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
MSHP reports that a 32-year-old man from Barnhart, Missouri, who was riding a 2024 Honda CRF450RWE dirt bike, died in the crash.
The collision happened around 8:10 p.m. Friday on Moss Hollow Road and Moss Drive.
According to an MSHP crash report, the dirt bike rider was traveling north while the other motorist involved in the crash, driving a 2021 Toyota Tundra, was heading south and attempted to make a left turn onto Moss Drive.
The dirt bike rider than applied brakes and tried to avoid the turning vehicle. Moments later, the dirt bike rider partially overturned, began to slide and hit the right side of the Tundra vehicle. He was ejected from his dirt bike.
The dirt bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene and sent to a medical examiner’s officer, per MSHP.
MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
