ST. LOUIS — Authorities have identified Alexander Whalen, 29, as a driver killed in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 64 last week when a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction struck his vehicle head-on.

The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. on January 17 near Jefferson Avenue, when a Dodge Ram traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes collided with Whalen’s Honda Accord. The impact caused one of the vehicles to hit a third car.
