ST. LOUIS – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the individuals who carjacked an elderly man over the weekend in north St. Louis.
According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, the carjacking happened just before 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at Wells and Rowan avenues in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood.
Officers met with the 70-year-old victim, who told them he was giving a 21-year-old woman a ride to the neighborhood and that she directed him to the intersection. When they arrived, the victim told police a 39-year-old woman and a second woman accosted the 21-year-old.
When the victim tried to intervene, the 39-year-old woman dragged the elderly man out of his car and attacked him.
Police said the 39-year-old indicated she had a firearm and demanded the victim’s car. She and the other suspect got into the man’s 2003 Ford Explorer and drove away. No one was seriously injured.
