WRIGHT CITY, Mo. – Emergency crews are responding to a three-alarm fire at a commercial facility after a report of an explosion Tuesday afternoon.

Warren County Joint Communications received the call around 1:45 p.m. for an explosion at Universal Galvanizing along S. First Street in Wright City. Upon arrival at the scene, the Wright City Fire Protection District called for additional crews, including hazardous materials response units.

Crews put out a half-mile evacuation zone. There were no other properties within the area, according to officials.

Warren County EMA said crews from St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties and hazardous material teams still remain on-scene as of 4 p.m.

Runoff was contained, and initial air monitoring does not reveal any hazards from the incident. Officials say there is no imminent danger to the public.

The three-alarm fire is said to be under control. All employees that were at the facility have been accounted for with no injuries reported.
