ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Public Schools will soon add 30 zero-emission vehicles to its fleet, thanks to a $10 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The funding comes from the EPA’s first “Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program.” The district plans to replace 30 diesel buses with electric ones, aiming to improve air quality for students, staff, and the community.

The project is also expected to lower transportation costs for the district. Implementation will occur over the next two to three years.
