ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A former sales associate at an Affton, Missouri, auction house has been charged with stealing over $25,000 of items and selling them on his personal eBay account.
According to court documents, Andrew Bauer, 34, has been charged with stealing products from GRS Auction and Liquidations and selling stolen items on his eBay account over the course of several years.
While Reed was employed as an e-commerce and direct sales associate, the auction house’s managing partner noticed inconsistencies in sales on eBay between 2020 and 2021.
After further investigation, it was discovered that Reed had been removing items from the house’s eBay account and selling them on his own.
Court documents said between January 30, 2022, and March 28, 2022, Reed sold items worth at least $25,781. Police found that the proceeds from those sales were deposited into two of Reed’s personal banking accounts.
The St. Louis County Police Department issued a warrant for Reed’s arrest on Feb. 6. He has been charged with a Class C Felony of stealing $25,000 or more.
