ST. LOUIS – Firefighters have been busy battling fires at vacant buildings.
The most recent one happened around 5 a.m. Saturday morning in south St. Louis.
Crews responded to a one-story brick building in the 7800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Patch Neighborhood. The fire started in the back of the building.
No injuries have been reported.
This fire comes hours after another fire happened at a vacant two-story building on Natural Bridge Friday night.
That fire started on the first floor and quickly spread to the second.
Crews had two hose lines working as they searched the building.
We don’t know the cause of these fires but with the cold temperatures, community leaders are urging people not to use unsafe methods to keep warm.
If you or someone you know needs a safe place to stay, call 2-1-1 to find a warming center.
