According to a MSHP incident report, Nolte was fishing Sunday at the river near the Allenton Boat Ramp. Investigators say he fell into the river, and he was seen floating on his back before being submerged underwater.

The report states that Nolte’s body was recovered on Tuesday, near the river bank of the Route 66 boat ramp.

Additional details around the drowning and recovery efforts are limited at this time. MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is handling the investigation.
