ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A flooding at Eureka High School has submerged the softball, baseball and soccer fields.

A creek backs up with flood water from the Meramec River, potentially being the main cause of the flooding.

The Rockwood Superintendent indicated that floodwaters may start rising from drains in the student parking lot.

Rockwood School District officials are closely monitoring the situation as the Meramec River is expected to crest at 32.5 feet in Eureka tomorrow morning.

Once the floodwaters begin to recede, the affected fields should clear, allowing the baseball team, which is currently still in season, to resume their activities.

The National Weather Service’s flood warning remains in effect until Friday evening.
