ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A former teacher in the Pattonville School District is accused of inappropriate behavior involving minors.
According to the Bridgeton Police Department’s probable cause statement, Jonathan A. Striebel (age not provided) is accused of possessing a nude image of a former student who was under the age of 18 and distributing said image. The incidents occurred between August 2021 and Sept. 24, 2024.
Police said several former students reported Striebel’s behavior.
Police said the student in the image identified herself to investigators and said she was 16 at the time the photo was taken.
Striebel had obtained the photo, kept it for years, and sent it to the student, police said.
According to police, Striebel admitted keeping the picture and knew the student was underage.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Striebel with second-degree promoting child pornography and first-degree possession of child pornography. Striebel was jailed on a $100,000 cash-only bond. He’s due in court for a bond reduction hearing on Oct. 3 and a preliminary hearing on Oct. 24.
