ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A former teacher and coach at Riverbend Middle School faces new child sex crime charges for having inappropriate contact with a student at a school event.

According to the Eureka Police Department’s probable cause statement, the crime occurred on June 21, 2024, at a football jamboree.

Police said Dustin J. Cowsert of Union, Missouri, lured the victim, who was under the age of 15, to a football equipment truck. Once in the truck, Cowsert allegedly groped and fondled the victim.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Cowsert with second-degree statutory sodomy, fourth-degree child molestation, enticement of a child, and sexual contact with a student.

Cowsert is already facing an 11-count indictment in Franklin County for sex crimes involving two minor children.
