EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – An Edwardsville, Illinois, woman was sentenced earlier this week for sexually abusing three of her former students.
Danielle Fischer, 32, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. A Madison County grand jury indicted Fischer on 12 counts in February 2022.
Fischer was a permanent substitute in the Roxana School District during the 2020-2021 school year, before moving on to the Alton School District for the 2021-2022 school year. Fischer admitted the abuse occurred between May and June 2021.
Investigators said the victims were Roxana High School students between the ages of 13 and 17.
A Madison County Circuit Court judge sentenced Fischer to 18 years in state prison.
