BENTON, Ill. – Two St. Louis men are among four people charged in federal court for robbing an armored truck last month in Madison, Illinois.

According to federal prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois, Antonio T. Harris, 23, and Patrick D. Johnson, 26, each face one count of conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce.

Lee O. Griffin Jr. 23, of Cahokia Heights, was charged with one count of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, one count of interference with commerce by robbery, one count of arson, and one count of possession of a weapon in furtherance of a crime of violence

The fourth suspect, Taneisha M. Davis, 29, of East St. Louis, was charged with one count of arson.

Prosecutors allege Harris and Johnson robbed two Brink’s employees as they serviced an ATM on Dec. 5, 2024. Harris and Johnson, armed with pistols, took cash from the Brink’s truck as well as the employees’ firearms, gun belts, magazines, and ammunition.

Griffin is accused of driving the getaway car, a Chevrolet Impala. The car was later found torched in Washington Park. Griffin and Davis are believed to have set the vehicle ablaze.

All four were later apprehended.

If convicted, the robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and arson charges are each punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison. Brandishing a weapon carries a sentence between seven years and life imprisonment, which would be served consecutively.
