ST. LOUIS – A Franklin County, Missouri, man appeared in federal court on Thursday to be sentenced for providing one of the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted with cash and other expensive items in order to have sex with an underage teen. Meanwhile, the search for his codefendant continues.

Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Theodore “Ted” J. Sartori Sr., 64, pleaded guilty in August to one count of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

Sartori told the court that between winter 2013 and summer 2016, he gave Donald Eugene Fields II, 60, money, cars, motorcycles, vacations, and presents to have access to the victim, beginning when she was 14 years of age.

At Thursday’s sentencing, the victim said Sartori had caused her “lifelong trauma, hopeless relationships,” flashbacks, PTSD, and low self-esteem.

A U.S. District Court judge sentenced Sartori to 10 years in federal prison. Sartori previously agreed to pay the victim more than $25,000 in restitution.

Meanwhile, Fields remains at large. He was indicted in 2022 but has yet to be apprehended.
