ST. LOUIS — The deep cold goes all the way to the Gulf Coast. While the deep south waits for an unusual winter storm bringing snow and ice, St. Louis remains very cold but also quiet.

Clear and bitter cold to start our Dr. King Day on Monday. It will be less breezy today, with highs only around 20 as clouds roll in this afternoon. Mostly cloudy this evening; can’t rule out a few snow flurries in spots as a weak trough passes through the region. Skies clearing towards daybreak; we will wake up in a 0 to 5 degree range. Clear and bitter cold Tuesday, highs in the low to mid 10s.

South winds kick in Tuesday night, and we’ll start to crawl out of the deep freeze. Highs Wednesday through Friday are back in the 30s, and we’re looking at 40s for the weekend.
