ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The St. Charles Convention Center is busy Friday evening getting last-minute preparations handled for the return of the Gateway Outdoor Expo this weekend.
The sixth annual family-friendly weekend event will feature more than 150 exhibit booths from regional outdoor industries, including product demonstration, show specials, kids activities and other attractions
“We’re trying to get more people outdoors, sounds very simple, but that’s the focus. Build community, build culture in the outdoors. The more people we can get outside, the happier and healthier they are,” River City Foundation Deputy Director Brad Kovach said.
From rock climbing to swimming, biking, and hiking, the avenues to discover let you explore outdoor opportunities all around the St. Louis region.
“It’s not just walking around and picking up information. It’s also climbing the rock wall, hoping on a bike, taking a tour around the course, hopping in the hot tub, and taking a demo swim. We want people who are not only brand new to the outdoors to come here and learn what’s available to them and then mark in their calendar for next year what to do. But people who are out already, outdoorsy apart of the culture and community, it’s just a great place to come and hangout,” Kovach added.
The Gateway Outdoor Expo takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry and parking are free to the public. For more information, click here.
