ST. LOUIS – Saturday marked a historic collaboration with over 300 local churches as the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis held its 2024 neighborhood cookout.

Grill to Glory was held Saturday as a community-wide event celebrates unity and support for local neighborhoods. Organizers served up free food and promoted fellowship.

“Nothing of this magnitude has ever happened,” said James Clark, vice president of public safety with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. “You have 321 churches in St. Louis City, County and East St. Louis that have put a new marker out that we will restore neighborhoods by bringing neighborhood residents together, and bringing resources to families in our more challenged neighborhoods.”

Over 90 percent of participating churches reported seeing increased engagement within their communities.
