ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Hate graffiti was reportedly found at Rogers Middle School in Affton on Wednesday morning. This comes a week after similar hate graffiti was found on the side of Affton High School.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers were called to Rogers Middle School a little after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning after reports of graffiti on one of the school’s buildings. Surveillance footage showed the suspect defacing the school with hate graffiti containing racist messages.

The graffiti at Rogers Middle School comes less than a week after hate graffiti appeared at Affton High School. The hate graffiti was found on the side of the high school on March 7, containing swastikas and other offensive phrases.

The hate graffiti at Rogers Middle School and Affton High School are believed to be related, police said. An investigation revealed that the person suspected of the hate graffiti allegedly stole two cans of black spray from a local hardware store on March 6.

According to police, the suspect is described as a white man with a slender build, standing between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 8 inches. At the time of the theft, the man was wearing all black clothing, including a black raincoat, and had a bandana covering his face.

The suspect on video at Rogers Middle School and the hardware store appeared to have similar descriptions, police said.
