ST. LOUIS – The entire St. Louis metropolitan area is under a Winter Weather Advisory late Thursday and into Friday morning as another round of snow hits the region. While this system will be less intense than Sunday and Monday’s storm, it will impact the morning commute on Friday.

How much snow will the St. Louis region see?

Between one and two inches of snow is expected to accumulate in the St. Louis metropolitan area into Friday morning. South of St. Louis from Sullivan to Festus, Missouri is expecting between two and four inches. East of St. Louis to Salem, Illinois will also see between two and four inches of snow on Friday.

Southern counties such as Dent, Iron, Reynolds, Madison, and Perry counties will see the bulk of this system with accumulations of four to six inches.

The snow is expected to start late Thursday night around 12 a.m. and continue into Friday late morning until 12 p.m.

Snow is expected to cover roadways during the Friday morning commute. MoDOT said in a news release on Thursday that crews will continue to work around the clock while prioritizing interstates and high-volume highways, then work to clear lower-volume routes and two-way streets.

Drivers are encouraged to be patient and give MoDOT and IDOT crews room to work.
