EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Illinois’ annual Mother’s Day diaper drive is underway for its third year for families in need.
Beginning on April 14 and up until May 9, this cause was brought forward by Illinois State Senator Erica Harriss.
“This initiative is about lifting up the incredible mothers in our community who are working hard every day to care for their children,” Harriss said. “We want to ensure they feel supported and appreciated this Mother’s Day.”
Partnered with Safe Families for Children Metro East, this diaper drive looks to obtain essential care items for mothers and children.
Locals who want to participate in the Mother’s Day drive can donate items, such as diapers (sizes 3, 4, and 5), pull-ups, baby wipes, sippy cups and more.
Hygiene products, like toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, can also be donated.
Items that are gifted will then be delivered by Harriss and her team to Safe Families for Children Metro East.
“We encourage everyone to participate, whether by donating or helping spread the word so that together we can make a meaningful impact for families in our area,” Harriss said.
Donations must be dropped off or mailed to Harriss’ District Office by May 9. The address is 120 N Main Street, Suite 1B, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
For more inquiries about the drive, contact the district’s office at 618-307-5789.
