JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – An Imperial, Missouri, man is wanted for stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of off-road vehicles and equipment.

According to probable cause statements filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the thefts took place in December 2023.

The sheriff’s office said Joshua Engelman (age not provided) broke into a storage facility and stole property belonging to three different victims.

One victim reported his 2012 Polaris RZR 800, 2007 Yamaha 700 ATV, 2021 Yamaha 50 dirt bike, and other riding equipment—valued at $14,000—were stolen. The second victim said he had three trimmers, two backpack blowers, and a handheld blower—valued at $2,700—stolen. The third victim reported his trailer had been taken, containing youth go carts and other accessories, totaling $11,750.

Investigators acquired surveillance video from a nearby business and observed a silver Nissan SUV entering the storage lot on multiple occasions around the time of the thefts. The SUV was later found abandoned near the storage lot on Dec. 22, 2023.

The sheriff’s office said deputies found Engelman’s driver’s license in the SUV, along with some of the aforementioned stolen items. Investigators said Engelman’s fingerprint was found on the stolen trailer.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Engelman with four counts of stealing a motor vehicle and seven counts of stealing – $750 or more. Engelman

The Jefferson County Circuit Court recently attempted to serve Engelman with a pair of summonses to appear in court, but authorities said Engelman had moved without leaving a forwarding address and already had warrants out against him.
