ST. LOUIS — Cloudy skies will slowly clear out this afternoon. Scattered showers and storms are likely to move into the region by Thursday morning. This first wave will be inconvenient but not severe. Isolated to scattered storms may redevelop Thursday afternoon, especially south of I-70 into southern Missouri.

Heavy rain is possible through early Friday morning, then the storm risk becomes much more spotty for Friday afternoon and Saturday. The flooding threat will be the big problem for southern Missouri and southwest Illinois. Most of the weekend looks dry and warm.
