EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – One person was shot Tuesday morning on Illinois Route 3 in East St. Louis, according to Illinois State Police.

ISP says a portion of the highway is shut down as authorities investigate the scene.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 9:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Illinois Route 3 near its meeting point with Interstate 55/64.


Hockey team rallies behind player after losing father

Investigators say someone drove to the East St. Louis Police Department with the victim that was struck by gunfire. The victim was rushed to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
