JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – Law enforcement in Jefferson and St. Louis counties believe there could be more victims in child sex crimes investigation as the suspect appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office’s probable cause statement, the crimes occurred on or between June 1, 2024, and March 24, 2025, with five victims between 12 and 13 years of age.

After speaking with four of the victims, investigators served a search warrant at the home of Christopher A. Moriarty, 43, on March 24. They found a half gallon on Pink Whitney vodka, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, sex toys, and an active camera in Moriarty’s bedroom that was pointed toward his bed.

Investigators also discovered the fifth victim’s Snapchat account on one of Moriarty’s cell phones. That account contained a “My Eyes Only” account, which Moriarty had access to, featuring several nude images of the victim. Moriarty claimed he had the girl’s Snapchat account on his phone so he could monitor her activity. Investigators also found an image taken in 2023 depicting a fully nude man with his genitals resting on the shoulder of a fully-clothed female seated in front of him.

Moriarty initially denied the nude man was him, according to the probable cause statement, but eventually admitted he was the man in the image. He said he didn’t know who the female was in the image. However, investigators later learned through a jail phone call that Moriarty said the fifth victim took the picture and that the image was shared in a group text with both Moriarty and another victim.

Investigators allege Moriarty would provide the victims with vodka and marijuana and would often suggest that they engage in sexual intercourse or perform sex acts on one another. Some of the victims told law enforcement that Moriarty had recorded those acts with a hidden camera. Moriarty is also accused of exposing himself to more than one victim, inappropriately touching them, and buying sex toys for them to use on one another.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Moriarty with four counts enticement or attempted enticement of a child (actor 21 or older and child less than 15 years of age), three counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 – first offense, three counts of statutory sodomy – person less than 14, one count of first-degree statutory rape – person less than 14, third-degree child molestation – child less than 14, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child – first offense, and first-degree possession of child pornography.

Moriarty was denied bond and remains jailed. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2.

Shortly after Jefferson County authorities identified Moriarty, the St. Louis County Police Department issued a statement saying their investigators have reason to believe there may be more victims due to Moriarty’s use of social media to contact the victims.
