ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Jennings man was taken into custody last week for a 2022 fatal shooting at a gas station in Cool Valley.
According to the Normandy Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting occurred on Nov. 13, 2022, at the BP gas station located along South Florissant Road near Signal Hill Drive.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 6:30 p.m. but found no victim. Just after 11 p.m. that night, police were called back to the gas station after the victim, Synciere Jamison, was found dead inside a car. Jamison was 20.
Investigators reviewed gas station surveillance video and watched as a Hyundai sedan—later determined to have been stolen—pulled up at the business and three people exited the vehicle while a fourth remained in the car. The suspects walked back to the car and drove to a lot across the street from the gas station, near Scoville Drive and Emerling Road.
Police said a Ring doorbell camera showed all four occupants in the car point guns and open fire at the gas station, striking Jamison in the back of the head.
Investigators identified Maurice H. Lee (age not provided) as one of the shooters comparing video from the scene to a prior booking photo. Lee was arrested on July 25.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Lee with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Lee remains jailed on a $1 million cash-only bond. He’s due in court on August 2 for a bond reduction hearing.
