ST. LOUIS – Two juveniles are in St. Louis police custody for allegedly robbing a teenager at gunpoint in the city’s Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.

According to a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, police received a call for a hold-up just before 1:30 p.m. on June 24.

Police met with the victim, a 17-year-old, who told officers he was walking in the 2900 block of Sheridan Avenue when a white BMW X3 pulled to the curb next to him. The front-seat passenger, a juvenile, got out of the BMW and walked up to him. The juvenile took out a black handgun with an extended magazine and announced a robbery.

Police claim the suspect went through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet and cellphones. The armed suspect got back in the BMW, which drove away.

Investigators received a description of the suspects and vehicle, which was broadcast citywide. Other officers spotted the vehicle near Glasgow Avenue and Gamble Street.

The BMW attempted to flee and police began a pursuit of the vehicle. The BMW struck another car but kept going. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the middle of Sheridan, just north of Dr. Martin Luther King Road.

Two occupants in the BMW took off on foot but were eventually apprehended. Police claim to have located a pistol with an extended magazine in the backseat of the BMW, and recovered the victim’s property on one of the suspects.
