LAKE OZARK, Mo. – A 20-year-old Lake Ozark man died after crashing into another car on a bridge at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a car driven by a 19-year-old from Brumley was stopped in traffic Thursday morning on the former toll bridge that connects Lake Ozark with Sunrise Beach.

The bridge along route MM is currently under construction, as it’s being decommissioned as a toll bridge with the former toll booths and administrative buildings being torn down .

Because of the construction, a temporary traffic signal has been in place to alternate traffic using one lane. 

The crash report states the location of the impact is on the bridge. FOX 2 travels this route frequently and has noticed traffic backups on both sides of the bridge as construction has been going on since at least last fall.

The patrol also says the 20-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and that the 19-year-old was. The teen driver was not injured.
