ST. LOUIS – The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, which means residents and visitors alike are searching for places to see fireworks shows around St. Louis in both Missouri and Illinois.

Below is a list of some events and towns holding their own celebrations either on July 4 or the weekend of:

Alton Fireworks Spectacular

July 3: 5 p.m. –10 p.m.

Alton Amphitheater (1 Riverfront Dr.)

Live entertainment all night; fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate St. Louis

July 4: 10 a.m.

S. Leonor K Sullivan B Boulevard

Parade along Market Street, airshow, vendors, concerts and more

Kirkwood Freedom Festival

July 4: 5 p.m.

Kirkwood Park (111 S. Geyer Rd.)

Free for all ages with live music, food trucks, and fireworks

Eureka Independence Day Celebration

July 4: 6 p.m. –10 p.m.

Central Avenue Spur (394 S. Central Ave.)

Local band, pyro-musical fireworks show, and vendors

St. Charles Riverfest

July 4 and 5: 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.
