ST. LOUIS – Magic Amanda is adept at amazing sleight-of-hand magic tricks.
She’s so good, in fact, that you can see her on the next episode of Penn & Teller: Fool Us on the CW Network.
The show features magicians trying to fool the longtime magic superstars Penn Jillette and his silent partner, Teller.
So, what can this St. Louis magician tell us?
“To be one of the 80 selected out of I don’t know how many auditioned,” said Amanda Lindsey, Magic Amanda, magician. “In front of two of the legends is very humbling and it’s very—I can’t believe this happened. I’m at a loss for words about it.”
She’s parlayed her parlor tricks into becoming the first new magician in residence at Magic Mini Golf in the Delmar Loop.
Starting Sunday, March 2 and on the first Sunday of every month, the viral YouTube sensation will perform her live magic.
“We had a video at Magic Mini Golf that went viral and got 2.7 million views in one day,” Lindsey said.
Her day job outside of magic is that she’s a licensed professional counselor.
Lindsey uses her gifts of close-up illusions to give keynote speeches and hands-on team-building company events.
“This is Pancakes, and Pancakes is an emotional support puppet for some of my little friends,” said Lindsey, holding a rabbit-in-a-hat puppet. “So, he goes with me to my day job and then hangs out with me at night.”
You have to hand it to her, combining her profession and her passion that people of all ages can see for themselves.
“It’s very awestruck because they’re my heroes,” Lindsey said. “And then, I’m performing for them on their stage. It’s an amazing feeling!”
