CLAYTON, Mo. – Lush employees at the St. Louis Galleria voted on Tuesday to join the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655 and became the first group of Lush workers in the state to do so.
The five employees voted to form a union with UFCW Local 655 after they reported company culture as the concern for their vote.
“Workers previously cited company culture as a primary concern, highlighting that Lush’s social activism and fight for progressive causes shouldn’t stop with their own employees,” said a UFCW Local 655 spokesperson in a news release on Wednesday.
UCFW Local 655 said it looks forward to working with Lush management to address these concerns. UFCW already represents Lush workers located in Kentucky after successfully organizing a union in 2023.
UFCW Local 655 said they are the largest union in Missouri, representing around 8,500 members employed in food stores, shoe manufacturing, packinghouse, distribution centers and miscellaneous plants.
