CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – Law enforcement is bringing the Major Case Squad into the investigation of a shooting that left one woman dead earlier this week.
According to police, 22-year-old Jamya T. Dukes of Granite City was brought to Touchette Regional Hospital with several gunshot wounds Tuesday night. It is unknown who transported Dukes to the hospital.
She ultimately succumbed to her injuries around 10:30 p.m.
The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of 20 Major Case Squad investigators Wednesday morning.
