ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man was arrested Friday after he was caught stealing a package containing a tracker and glitter bomb inside.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident occurred on the 900 block of Washington Avenue. Police say a resident set up a decoy package containing a tracker and a homemade glitter bomb due to a high volume of package thefts in the area.

Police say the decoy package was taken and while investigating who took it, Robert Simino, 42, was caught stealing a separate package delivered to another resident who had not yet received their package.

According to police, Simino was caught on video surveillance stealing the packages and later confessed to stealing the packages following his arrest.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Simino with one count of stealing a postal or delivery item. Simino is being held without bond.
