ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis County Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant for a man accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Spanish Lake home last week and attacking the woman in bed while their child was lying next to her.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident happened on April 5.

Police claim Tayran Wilhite (age not provided) entered his ex’s residence uninvited and strangled her on her bed. He then took out a handgun, racked the weapon, held the gun to her throat, and threatened to shoot her.

Wilhite fled after the victim’s cousins arrived at the house.

Police recovered a live round from the bedroom matching Wilhite’s gun. The round was expunged from the gun when Wilhite racked the weapon.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Wilhite with first-degree burglary, second-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of armed criminal action. Wilhite’s bond was set at $150,000, cash-only.
