ELLISVILLE, Mo. — A Eureka, Missouri man has been charged after attempting to carjack a woman’s vehicle and steal her purse at a bank in Ellisville.
According to the Ellisville Police Department, John Oxendale attempted to hijack the woman’s Mini Cooper while at First Bank located at 15965 Manchester Road on Monday.
Police said Oxendale attempted to open the doors of the vehicle and demanded the victim’s keys and purse. When the victim refused, Oxendale fled, and the victim went inside First Bank to call police.
Police located Oxendale on Manchester Road when they attempted to stop and arrest him. Oxendale refused and walked away from police before they used a taser to stop him.
Oxendale has been charged with vehicle hijacking, attempted stealing, and resisting arrest.
