FLORISSANT, Mo. – A man faces felony charges after he allegedly fired shots during an apparent road rage incident in Florissant, which led to the victim crashing her car.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Christopher Sanders, 28, with first-degree assault (causing serious injury), two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm in the investigation.
The incident occurred on March 21, 2025, on Graham Road near Dunn Road.
According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, the victim had just dropped her children off at school and was leaving a gas station when she “inadvertently” drove in front of another driver. That driver then followed her for a short distance before firing multiple shots at her vehicle.
The victim was shot in the leg, causing her to lose control of her car, which flipped over the side of the road.
Surveillance footage, witness statements and cell phone records lead investigators to identify Sanders as the suspect. Authorities say he was driving a vehicle owned by his girlfriend at the time of the shooting.
A warrant was served for Sanders’ arrest on Sunday, per Missouri court records. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 6.
