ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A man died Tuesday from injuries suffered in a wrong-way crash in St. Charles, police say.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of First Capitol Drive near the intersection of Pralle Lane.

Investigators say a driver was heading northbound on First Capitol Drive before his vehicle crossed the roadway and entered the southbound lanes. The wrong-way driver then struck two vehicles, including one head-on.

The driver in the wrong-way vehicle was rushed to a hospital, but later died from his injuries in the crash. The St. Charles Police Department says the victim was a 37-year-old man from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. His identity has not yet been disclosed.

As for the other two vehicles involved, one driver declined medical attention at the scene, while the other driver was rushed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The St. Charles Police Department’s traffic accident reconstruction unit is handling the investigation into the crash.
