ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Frightening moments in south St. Louis after what police are calling an apparent explosion at an apartment building.

The incident occurred on the 7800 block of Germania at the Fountains at the Carondelet apartments around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.

According to the police, the explosion happened inside one of the apartments at the large complex and left a man seriously hurt, losing part of his arm.

St. Louis City police have not provided any updates on the condition of the man who lost part of his arm. Bomb and arson investigators have been called in to take over the case.
