ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man allegedly robbed a cab driver at gunpoint after a crash in St. Louis County, then assaulted an officer in an unusual manner while attempting to resist arrest.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Cornell Woolfolk, 26, with seven felonies and one misdemeanor charge amid the investigation, including three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of assault.

Charges stem from an incident at an undisclosed location in St. Louis County on Wednesday.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Woolfolk struck a taxicab and showed various signs of intoxication after the collision.

Woolfolk reportedly approached the taxicab driver, demanded a ride and placed a gun to the cab driver’s head. He later struck the cab driver with the gun and stole money from the cab driver’s pockets.

After that, a different driver, not involved in the crash, approached the scene. Woolfolk allegedly pointed the gun at that driver and demanded his keys.

Shortly after that, police arrived at the scene of the crash and attempted to arrest Woolfolk. Investigators say he tried to run away from the scene before officers detained him.

Then, according to court documents, Woolfolk attempted to resist arrest by grabbing and twisting the private parts of one officer. He was taken into custody shortly after that.

Woolfolk has a criminal history dating back to 2018, including a felony conviction that bans him from legally possessing a firearm, per Missouri court records.

Woolfolk has a preliminary hearing over his charges set for Jan. 6, 2025.
