ST. LOUIS – A man was stabbed in the abdomen and carjacked while stopped at a stop sign in the city’s Midtown neighborhood.
According to SLMPD, the 51-year-old was at a stop sign at N. Leffingwell Avenue and Samuel Shepherd Drive on Monday around 2 p.m. when an unknown man came up to his vehicle.
The victim told police the man opened his driver door and forced him out of the car. After a brief struggle, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.
The suspect then fled from the scene in the victim’s Cadillac SUV. The victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Officers later located the man’s Cadillac in the 2600 block of James Cool Papa Bell in Midtown.
