ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to search for the suspect involved in striking a man with a hammer on a Metro bus over the weekend.
According to police, a 24-year-old man was riding the bus along the 1300 block of Tucker Blvd. around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Another man approached him and tried to steal his bag, which contained the victim’s medicine.
The 24-year-old resisted, which then led to the unkown man pulling out a hammer and hitting the victim in the face. The suspect then got off the bus and fled on foot.
The hammer caused a deep laceration to the victim’s face. He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Police continue to search for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact a detective at 314-444-2500 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous and potentially receive a cash reward.
