ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man out on bond for burglary and stealing allegedly snuck into Clayco headquarters on Tuesday night while wearing an ankle monitor.
According to the Berkeley Police Department, Wendell Stone, 29, around 9 p.m. snuck into the restricted headquarters for the general contractor located off Interstate 70.
Stone was caught on surveillance video illegally entering the building when someone accidentally let him in through a locked security door.
After he was let in, he went by an unmanned reception desk and stole an employee ID badge and Clayco vest. Brown was in the building for two hours before a cleaning lady noticed him on the fourth floor.
After police arrived, they found Brown on the second floor with the stolen employee badge and Clayco vest.
Brown is currently out on bond for felony possession of a controlled substance, burglary, and stealing and wears an ankle monitor device.
He has been charged with first-degree burglary and stealing items valued at less than $150. Brown is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 16 at 1:30 p.m.
